Help us Shape our Next Housing Plan!
SHIP funding gives us the flexibility not just to choose which activities to implement but how we implement those programs. The state provides broad guidelines, such as funding requirements and eligible activities.
It's up to us to develop the specific details, structure, and innovative solutions that meet our community’s unique needs. For example, if we see an opportunity to address rising insurance costs for homeowners, we could design a completely new program specifically to reduce risks and keep rates affordable.
This means we don’t simply pick from pre-existing state templates—we craft our own strategies and programs that fall within the state’s parameters, based on our local capacity, needs, and priorities.
