August 10, 2021 – Cooking classes, movie matinees, historical programs, and plant clinics are all available to adults at the Flagler Public Library in the upcoming weeks.

“We have a wonderful line up of programs scheduled,” said Library Director Holly Albanese. “My staff worked very hard to come up with a variety of offerings to suit all tastes.”

The Gazette was printed in St. Augustine in the days immediately after the American Revolution, when East Florida was still subject to King George III.

Movie matinees are scheduled 1 to 4 p.m. on August 20 and 27. The Library’s licensing agreement doesn’t allow title announcements. At 2 p.m. on September 24, Zach Zacharias, Senior Curator of Education and History at the Museum of Arts and Sciences (MOAS), will make a presentation about “Florida Crackers and the Cowboys of the East.”

Historian Joseph Vetter returns at 1 p.m. October 23 to portray Alexander Hamilton, an assistant to President George Washington, and the first Secretary of the Treasury.

All of these events will be held at the Main Branch Library in Palm Coast – 2500 Palm Coast Parkway NW – and are sponsored and funded by the Friends of the Library of Flagler County.

“We have the best Friends group a library could ask for,” Albanese said. “They are so generous and our residents are the beneficiaries.”

The remainder of the cooking series is as follows:

  • 2 p.m. September 10, “Cooking with Wine – Remove the Mystery and Discover the Benefits”
