Learn about the culture of the Florida Crackers- their life style, origin, and how the name came to be. Learn about "cracker" cuisine and how they lived close to the land. In 1880, only 267,000 people lived in Florida but approximately 750,000 cows wandered the state. Learn about stories of the unique and famous cracker cowboys of the 1880's like "Bone" Mizell, Hub Williams, and more who drove these wild cattle to market. Being a Florida Cracker was not an economic state but a unique culture.
