FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- Flagler County, Geosyntec Consultants to conduct Stormwater Master Plan public meeting July 31
July 11, 2023 – Flagler County and its consultant, Geosyntec Consultants, will conduct a final public meeting from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on July 31 as it is completing the development of a Stormwater Master Plan to address all aspects of stormwater management within the county.
“The Stormwater Master Plan assessed flooding, water quality, and future resiliency issues,” said County Engineer Faith Alkhatib. “The goal of the master planning process is to identify measures to improve current drainage infrastructure, reduce pollutant loading to water bodies, and provide strategies to accommodate future development and public input is critically important.”
The meeting will include a presentation that provides an overview of the stormwater master planning process, what is being addressed, and the recommendation. The meeting will also provide a venue for public questions, input, and comments.
Flagler County intends to continue to collect feedback about both current issues and input into future management strategies.
“This continued feedback is crucial to the success of the master planning process,” Alkhatib said. “We really want our residents to participate in this process.”
The meeting will be held in Commission Chambers at the Flagler County Government Services Building, 1769 E. Moody Boulevard (State Road 100), Bunnell. Additionally, it will be livestreamed on the Flagler County YouTube page www.youtube.com/flaglercounty/live.
